We use the term for artists who have not yet had a major institutional solo show or consistent gallery representation for more than five years. The focus stays on the work itself, not on market value or auction records.
A studio visit means we spend time in the actual workspace where the artist makes their pieces. We document the tools, unfinished works, and the physical layout. We do not accept pre-arranged showroom tours or virtual walkthroughs as substitutes.
Yes. Every guide references a specific apartment, house, or public space we have visited. We name the designer or owner when they agree to be identified. If a project is anonymous, we say so clearly and explain why.
We do consider pitches sent to our editorial email. However, we do not publish paid features or sponsored reviews. If a piece is written about a gallery that advertises with us, that relationship is disclosed in the article footer.
If a factual error is reported, we verify it with the source and publish a correction note within ten working days. For significant errors that change the meaning of an article, we update the text and add an editor's note at the top.
We only use images provided by the artist, the gallery, or the designer, or images we take ourselves during a visit. We do not pull photos from social media without permission. Every image is credited in the caption.

No. All essays, interviews, and guides are free to read on the site. A subscription is optional and simply adds a printed edition, early access to studio visits, and a monthly newsletter with links we do not publish elsewhere.
We look for creators with a clear process and a body of work that rewards close looking, not just a strong portfolio. Many of the artists we cover are mid-career or emerging, and we try to balance established names with people who have not had much press attention yet.
Yes. Send us a short note with the artist's name, a link to their work, and a sentence about why they would fit the magazine. We read every suggestion, though we can only respond when a submission moves forward to the editorial stage.
